Adults
Between the ages of 26 and 60, we encompass three generations: Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z. Each of these generations has grown up with different experiences and now faces unique challenges and purposes in adulthood. Many of us aim to contribute to society in various ways—through work, raising children, helping others, or sometimes, not engaging in these roles at all. Some of us are simply trying to navigate and survive in a world that often feels uncertain and overwhelming. The stressors of adult life can have a significant impact on mental health. Common mental health disorders or experiences can include, but are not limited to:
Anxiety Disorders: Persistent worry, fear, or panic that can interfere with daily activities.
Depression: Prolonged feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest in activities.
Stress: High levels of stress, often related to work, finances, or family responsibilities.
Substance Use Disorders: Misuse of alcohol, drugs, or other substances as a coping mechanism.
Bipolar Disorder: Episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): Anxiety and flashbacks triggered by a traumatic event.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Repetitive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or behaviors (compulsions).
Sleep Disorders: Insomnia or other sleep-related issues, often linked to stress or mental health conditions.
Personality Disorders: Long-term patterns of behavior and inner experiences that differ significantly from cultural expectations.
Eating Disorders: Issues related to body image and unhealthy eating habits, such as anorexia or bulimia.
Relationship Issues: Challenges in personal relationships, including marital problems, can lead to emotional distress.
Suicidal Thoughts and Behaviors: Some adults may struggle with thoughts of suicide, often related to severe depression or overwhelming life stress.
